主要研究方向为:病原微生物毒力进化机制与早期预警研究。
针对我国环境病原监测技术体系尚未建立,相关基础研究严重不足的现状,围绕上述科学问题开展了一系列研究
,取得的成果包括:
1、通过环境监测阐明了我国动物用益生菌存在重大安全隐患,研究论文发表于Clinical Infectious Diseases后
被包括美国传染病政策研究中心,中国热心肠日报等多家国内外媒体转载;随后2021年5月,农业农村部发布了
(农渔发[2021]1号)通知,要求将动物用益生菌参照兽药管理;
2、阐明了致病性弧菌在环境中的环境适应性进化策略,包括:基因删除、基因水平转移等;
3、建立了环境病原监测技术,通过测定城市污水中包括新冠病毒在内的多个关键病原浓度等数据,建立和优化预测模型,推算感染人数,建立了基于污水的传染病风险评估体系,并在深圳等多个城市示范应用,
为感染高峰和住院高峰的预测提供了重要信息,在第一波和第二波新冠疫情中降低了医疗挤兑,并得到了深圳市
疾控中心和国家疾控局等多家单位的表彰。所指导研究生多次获得国家奖学金。
