Abstract:The competitive cadre selection is an important form of selecting cadres. It plays an active role in optimizing the cadre team structure and improving the quality of the organization's talent selection. However, there are still some problems in the practice of the competitive cadres selection, such as the selection criteria being not clear enough, the selection principle being not implemented totally, the program design being not so scientific, the legal system being not firmly established, the validity of the examination link being not strong, and the discipline and supervision becoming a mere formality. While the imperial examination system accumulates more than 1,300 years of experience on the selection of examinations, which therefore highlight to improve the method of competitive cadre selection. Specifically, the following aspects show the reference value, saying implement the principle of fairness, paying attention to the construction of the examiners team, setting different subjects to select different types of the talent, setting up “cewen” as an exam process, attaching importance to supervision and so on.
