Artificial cells are constructed using liposomes and emulsion droplets, enabling the reconstruction of key life-like functions—including membrane transport, enzymatic catalysis, and gene expression—within a minimal and controllable system, thereby elucidating the intrinsic mechanisms underlying complex biological behaviors.
