Cities and metropolitan areas are drivers of economic growth, contributing about 60% of global GDP. But rapid urbanization is causing a growing number of problems, and UNESCO's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development calls for inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities and human settlements. By 2030, make safe, inclusive, accessible and green public spaces universal for all, strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world's cultural and natural heritage, significantly reduce the number of deaths and victims from disasters, focus on protecting the poor and vulnerable, and reduce the negative per capita environmental impact of cities, including with special attention to air quality and municipal waste management. Build inclusive, resource-efficient, climate-resilient cities and human settlements, and establish and implement comprehensive disaster risk management at all levels. At the same time, with the advent of the data age, the trend of various types of government information disclosure such as e-government platforms is increasing, and the use of technologies or tools such as bibliometrics, natural language processing and topic modeling to conduct in-depth text mining of public policies has become the focus of researchers.
This research direction will focus on the analysis of policies that support sustainable development, such as culture and tourism, green environmental protection and public safety, and try to explore knowledge innovation in the field of public policy from the perspective of policy evolution and innovation diffusion, so as to provide support for scientific decision-making and governance efficiency in regional policies. Students interested in sustainable public policies (cultural tourism, green protection, public safety) are welcome to apply.
